As a deaf artist, signing is one of my primary means of communicating with people, along with lip reading. Given the current pandemic and the increased use of face masks, communicating is now even more challenging and signing is now more critical. 

Female identity combines sculpture with quotes from prominent females. These quotes are written on marbled paper to depict the restriction on the progression of female identity across multiple cultures over time. The deliberate omission of the head, face and limbs ensures the work is not bound by cultural ideals and the preconception of the viewer.

Cultural Identity combines sculpture and fabrics to showcase my African heritage. The base of the sculpture outlines Britain and Nigeria thus representing my dual identification with both cultures.

Tessellation combines nature and repetitive patterns.
